Pune: Notorious History-sheeter held for selling Ganja at Symbiosis hill
Pune, 28th July 2023: The Deccan Gymkhana Police successfully apprehended a notorious criminal involved in the illicit drug trade near Symbiosis College. The suspect, Ganesh Devidas Kasbe (22), a resident of Dattawadi, was taken into custody on Wednesday at approximately 5 pm. Acting on a tip-off, the police acted swiftly to nab the criminal red-handed while peddling narcotics at the hill adjacent to Symbiosis College on SB Road.
Under the stern provisions of the NDPS Act, Ganesh Devidas Kasbe now faces charges for his involvement in drug trafficking. During the arrest, the police seized a substantial quantity of cannabis weighing around 700 grams, with an estimated street value of Rs 13,650.
Investigating the matter further is PSI Mahesh Bhosale, who is leading the inquiry into the drug-related activities of the accused. It was revealed that the suspect was actively targeting college students and visitors to the hill for his illegal drug dealings.
The successful operation was carried out under the commendable guidance and direction of Commissioner of Police, Retesh Kumaarr, Joint Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Karnik, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1), Sandeep Singh Gill, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Vasant Kunwar Saha, Senior Police Inspector, Vipin Hasabnis, and Police Inspector, Shankar Salunkhe.
The investigation team responsible for this significant breakthrough includes Police Sub-Inspectors Mahesh Bhosale, Sandip Jadhav, and Dattatraya Sawant, along with police personnel Shinde, Gabhale, Pathrut, Mali, Alhat, Gaikwad, and Kale.
