Dhanori, 13th April 2023: The power outage that has plunged Mayur Kilbil Society in Dhanori into darkness has left its approximately 500 families in despair. For over 48 hours, the society has been grappling with the frustrating situation, with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) failing to provide any relief.

In the current weather conditions, with temperatures soaring as high as 40 degrees Celsius, the power outage has made life difficult for the residents. Work and daily routines have been hampered, with no end to the power outage in sight.

The power supply issue is not new to the society, and the repeated instances of outages have left the members feeling disheartened. “This is being repeatedly happened every 2,3 months, why should we are paying electricity bill,” voiced a frustrated resident.

According to the MSEDCL officials, the main cable outside the society responsible for supplying electricity to the area has been damaged and broken, leading to the prolonged outage. Despite their best efforts, the officials have been unable to provide a specific timeframe for restoring the electricity.

Residents have taken to social media platforms to voice their dissatisfaction with the state of affairs. Nilesh Rokade’s tweet, “More than 600+ family facing power failure more than 48 hours. Shame on @MSEDCL . It’s an old problem but not yet solved just for the purchase of new bundles of wire,” is a reflection of the residents’ growing discontent.

As the situation continues to be a cause of concern, the MSEDCL officer from Lohegaon Dhanori has assured that the matter is being attended to with the utmost urgency.
