Pune: NGO S L Chavhan Foundation Serves Fresh Food To Needy, Offers Free Online Training Program To Underprivileged

Pune, 18th May 2021: S L Chavhan Foundation has been serving fresh food to over 300 needy and homeless people near Khed Shivapur Dargah and other places.

President of the foundation Dr Girija Shinde said that 25 jobless women are now getting daily wages by cooking food for the foundation by strictly following the government rules. Our emphasis is on maintaining good food quality. Recently on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya, sweet Sheera, Sabudana Khichadi and Mangoes were distributed to needy people.

Leena Chavhan, Pratik Bhagat, Vaijayanti Atre, Suman Murti, Sandhya Suryvanshi, Sandip Barve of Yukrand, Bhaskar Shinde and Nisarga Raaje supported the cause.

Since the time of Covid and the lockdown, there has been a severe crisis of employment opportunities. Many people lost their jobs and daily wage workers are suffering a lot therefore the Foundation started promoting the empowerment of women through online free training programs and helping them to enhance their skills.

Training programs are being organised for making instant snacks, curry powder, imitation jewellery,gardening and organic manure making. They also conduct training programs for nursing and paramedical job opportunities.

Women have been trained on paper bag making and beautifully designed hand made quilts which ensures a constant source of income. Now hand made quilts have entered the UAE market which is the biggest achievement of the Foundation, Dr Shinde said.
