Pune: Newborn Baby Found Abandoned In Plastic Bag In Yerawada, Case Registered
Pune 13th Oct 2023: A horrifying incident has recently come to light in Pune where an infant, only a few months old, was discovered in a precarious condition inside a plastic bag. It is alleged that an unknown individual, involved in an illicit relationship, resorted to an abortion and callously abandoned the newborn in a plastic bag after wrapping it in polythene.
This distressing event occurred in Yerwada, triggering widespread concern and outrage across the city. The police have registered a case in connection with this incident and are conducting a thorough investigation.
According to the police, the lifeless body of the infant was found amid garbage at Pandu Lamhan Vasti area in Yerwada. Some suspicious items in the vicinity caught the attention of residents, leading them to investigate, only to discover the deceased newborn. The police immediately reached the scene, conducted a preliminary examination and ensured that the body was taken for a post-mortem examination.
The police suspect that the infant might have been a victim of an abortion due to an illicit relationship or female feticide considering the circumstances in which it was found. A detailed investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the incident. The police have initiated legal proceedings against the unknown person responsible for this heinous act.
