Pune: New Grace English School Organises A Successful Blood Donation Camp on Gandhi Jayanti

Pune, 3rd October 2024: New Grace English School, in collaboration with Dr.D.Y. Patil College of Nursing, successfully organized its first-ever Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday. The event saw enthusiastic participation from Management ,teachers, staff, parents , alumni students and members of the public, with 92 donors contributing to this noble cause. The camp aimed to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and address the growing demand for blood supplies in hospitals.

The day began with a spirited Swachh Bharat Abhiyan rally organized by the school, followed by the inauguration of the Blood Donation Camp.

The Chief Guest, Vinay Patankar, Senior Police Inspector of Kondhwa Police Station, emphasized the importance of vigilance and continuous commitment to such causes. He assured the school that the Kondhwa police would always cooperate in raising awareness about various social initiatives, praising the school’s efforts in organizing this camp.

The school’s assembly hall was transformed into a well-equipped donation center, supervised by professional doctors to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all donors.

Dr. I. S. Mulla, Emeritus Scientist and Advisory Member of Grace Education Foundation, spoke about the importance of community service and enlightened the staff on the need to develop scientific thinking skills to shape better citizens. His insightful words inspired all in attendance.

A special highlight was the active participation of 15 young Madrassa students from Baitul Uloom, Kondhwa, along with their teachers, who also donated blood, showcasing their commitment to the cause.

During the event, New Grace students who had won state-level Taekwondo and Jujutsu matches as well as Zilla Parishad competitions were felicitated for their remarkable achievements. Their successes were celebrated, emphasizing the school’s dedication to nurturing both academic and extracurricular excellence.

Additionally, scholarships under the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Award 2024-25 were awarded to the topper students of New Grace English School (NGES) and Jamaluddin Maqbool Junior College (JMJC) as a mark of academic excellence.

The program concluded with the National Anthem and a distribution of fruits, snacks, juices, and goodies. Certificates of appreciation were also awarded to the donors as a token of gratitude for their life-saving contributions. New Grace English School hopes to make this Blood Donation Camp an annual event, continuing to contribute to the well-being of the community, while inspiring the younger generation to engage in social causes under their slogan, “Donate Blood For A Reason, Let The Reason Be Life.”
