Pune: Neighbor’s Taunts Over Unemployment, Minor Boy Damages 12 Vehicles

Swargate, 11th July 2024: In a shocking incident early Wednesday morning, a minor in an inebriated state vandalized 10 to 12 vehicles in the Maharshinagar area of Gultekdi. The Pune Police have detained the youth, who confessed to the act, attributing his behavior to anger provoked by taunts from neighbors about his unemployment.

The vehicles, parked in front of Crescent High School, were damaged around dawn, waking residents with the noise of breaking windows and damaged tempos and two-wheelers. Upon investigation, locals found the minor causing the damage with a stick.

Immediately after witnessing the vandalism, citizens alerted the police control room. Swargate police station team arrived at the spot and detained the minor. During interrogation, the boy revealed that neighbors’ constant taunting about his joblessness drove him to drink heavily the previous night. Fueled by anger and alcohol, he took out his frustration on the parked vehicles.
