Pune: NDRF Recovers All Four Dead Bodies From Well Collapse Incident Site In Indapur

Pune 4th August 2023 : The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has retrieved bodies of four people trapped under the debris of well collapse incident site in Indapur on Friday. The rescue operation to trace the missing people entered fourth day today. The rescue team was conducting the rescue operation in an odd condition as the incident site was prone to sink again.

It may be noted that an under-construction wall of a well had collapsed in Mahsobachi Wadi village in Indapur on Tuesday. The incident site wad approximately 100 MTR diameter well being dugged and it’s depth was around 30-40 mtrs, retaining wall work of one side was completed and half side was underway when the Wall got collapsed and person working or standing nearby on its side got trapped under the debris.

The site was further peone to more threats of sinking but the NDRF teams started the rescue operation using heavy digging machinery along with other equipment on the same day and could not find any trace of the trapped people for the first three days.

The deceased have been identified as Somnath Laxman Gaikwad (32), Javed Akbar Mulani (30), Parshuram Bansilal Chavan (30) and Laxman alias Manohar Maruti Sawant (55).
