Pune, 15th February 2023: Pune underwent extensive beautification in preparation for the G20 meeting. While trees were being planted, roads and bridges were cleaned, repaired, and painted. The city, however, returned to its old state after the summit, and the newly planted trees are again wilting.

The urban cell of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Bibwewadi started a watering initiative to address the issue.

The urban cell reported that the municipal corporation had stopped watering the potted plants beside the Shankar Seth overpass after the G20 conference ended in mid-January. The cell said that they had used a water tanker to water approximately 200 potted plants and planned to do similarly in the future.
