Pune: NCC Directorate Maharashtra Secures Top Spot at 2024 Nau Sainik Camp

Pune, 6th September 2024: The All India Nau Sainik Camp was held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, from August 25 to September 5, 2024, under the supervision of the Director General of NCC. A total of 612 cadets from 17 directorates across India took part in the camp, engaging in various activities such as boat pulling, rigging, semaphore, service subjects, health and hygiene, and firing competitions. The NCC Directorate Maharashtra contingent emerged victorious for the second consecutive year, winning the prestigious overall performance trophy.

The camp was officially inaugurated on August 25, 2024, by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Commandant of the National Defence Academy (NDA). During the event, Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, the Director General of NCC, visited the camp, where he met with cadets and recognized those who excelled in firing and semaphore activities. The camp’s closing ceremony on September 5, 2024, was attended by Major General S Chawla, ADG (B), HQ DG NCC.

Major General Yogender Singh, ADG of NCC Directorate Maharashtra, expressed pride in the team’s remarkable achievement of winning the Nau Sainik Camp trophy for two consecutive years. He extended his gratitude to the Commanding Officer of INS Shivaji, the Southern Naval Command, and the Government of Maharashtra for their unwavering support in the cadets’ endeavors.
