Pune Municipal Corporation’s Urban95 Kids Festival Week Enthralls at Sarasbaug Launch

Pune, 14th December 2023: Today marked the commencement of the much-anticipated Urban95 Kids Festival, a collaborative effort between the Pune Municipal Corporation and the Van Leer Foundation, captivating the hearts of children and parents alike at Sarasbaug.

The festival, tailored to cater to children aged 0 to 6 years alongside their parents, kicked off with an assortment of enthralling activities. Drawing an impressive attendance on its inaugural day, a staggering 15 schools participated, welcoming 2670 kids and their guardians to relish a plethora of engaging experiences. From enchanting magic shows to interactive storytelling, mind-teasing puzzle games, delightful puppet shows, and stimulating sensory activities, the festival was a hive of diverse engagements. Notably, the adorable Mascot ‘Mau’ stole the show, enchanting both youngsters and adults through interactive sessions.

Distinguished personalities graced the event, including Yuvraj Mallik, Director of the National Book Trust, renowned Marathi actress Prajakta Mali, Vikas Dhakne, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) of Pune Municipal Corporation, and Ipshita Sinha, India Representative for the Van Leer Foundation, who jointly inaugurated the event.

Commending the festival’s holistic approach towards early childhood development, Yuvraj Mallik pledged unwavering support, especially in nurturing storytelling and building capacities through books.

Expressing contentment with the overwhelming participation of children and families, Vikas Dhakne, IAS, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special), PMC, envisioned a triumphant second edition of the PMC Kids Festival.

Praising Urban95 as a distinct program dedicated to early childhood development, Prajakta Mali encouraged Pune residents to partake in the festivities at Sarasbaug.
