Pune, 2nd August 2024: Women are flocking to Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) centers to benefit from the Chief Minister’s Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (My Beloved Sister Scheme). During the verification process, errors were found in about three and a half thousand applications. Women have been allowed to correct these errors to qualify for the scheme.

PMC has requested that these corrections be made immediately. Deputy Commissioner of the Social Development Department, Nitin Udas, stated that applications can only be amended or documents added from the same mobile phone or computer used to submit the original application.

The Maharashtra State Government has announced the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana for women, which will deposit 1,500 rupees into each woman’s bank account every month. The scheme has received a great response, prompting PMC to establish 196 centers across the city for registration. To date, PMC has registered 1.12 lakh applications.

Verification of these applications has begun, with 21 thousand applications already verified. Approximately 3,500 applications have been provisionally rejected. A message has been sent to each woman regarding this issue.

Reasons for provisional rejection include unclear Aadhaar cards, missing or incomplete ration card backs, bank account details, residence proof, guarantee letters, proof of residence in Pune for 15 years after marriage, and income proof. Women need to re-upload their documents to correct these errors; this will be the final opportunity to do so.
