Pune Municipal Corporation Launches ‘Toilet Seva’ Mobile App For Easy Access To City Facilities
Pune, 23rd June 2023: Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar yesterday inaugurated the mobile app ‘Toilet Seva’, which will provide citizens with convenient access to information about Pune municipal corporation (PMC), institutions, banks, hotels, and other private places. This user-friendly app aims to assist citizens who are out for shopping or other purposes.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Additional Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemmanar, Deputy Commissioner of the Solid Waste Management Department, Asha Raut, and App Developer Amol Bhinge, among others.
Commissioner Vikram Kumar urged maximum citizen participation and emphasized that their suggestions and complaints would be taken into account for continuous improvements.
Bhinge highlighted that the app provides information about 1184 out of 1224 municipal toilets, including those in private establishments across the city. The Municipal Corporation offers this service free of charge, and funding will be sought from the corporation to sustain it.
The app utilizes Google Maps to display a list of private and municipal toilets within a one-kilometer radius of the user’s location. Further enhancements are planned, including the development of a separate list dedicated to municipal apps. The ‘Toilet Seva’ app is now available for download on the Google Play Store.
Through the ‘Toilet Seva’ app, citizens can provide feedback on the cleanliness and facilities of private and municipal toilets. The ratings given by citizens will encourage private institutions, hotels, theaters, and other professionals to maintain clean and well-equipped toilets. Bhinge emphasized that maintaining clean toilets can benefit businesses.
The launch of the ‘Toilet Seva’ mobile app by the Pune Municipal Corporation marks a significant step towards enhancing citizen convenience and promoting cleanliness across the city.
