Ambegaon,26th August 2021: Action was taken today against unauthorized constructions in Siddhivinayak Society near Ambegaon Khurd, Duttnagar, Jambhulwadi Road, Survey No. 60. A six-story building called Durga Heights has been demolished by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

There were thirty flats in this building and all these flats were sold. The action was initiated by the PMC’s Executive Engineer Rahul Salunkhe from 11 am today.

The Ambegaon Khurd area is developing rapidly. The area is home to a large working-class population. So the citizens usually bought flats in such unauthorized buildings as they could get a ready constructed house at lower rates.

Deputy Engineer Kailas Karale, Prakash Paygude, Junior Engineer Hemant Kolekar, Sandesh Patil, Prashant More, Dhananjay Khole, Nishikant Chhapekar, Balasaheb Badde along with police officers and staff of Bharti Vidyapeeth Police were present on this occasion.

The Municipal Corporation does not take action till the work of the building is completed. Citizens are questioning the reason for the delay in taking action as the six floors were constructed.

“From now on, action will be taken against the unauthorized constructions in Ambegaon Budruk and Khurd area. Action will be taken against four to six more unauthorized builders in Survey No. 60”, said Deputy Engineer Dhayagude.

Ram Asare, a local resident, said that the notice came two days ago and we could not remove our belongings. Our life has been ruined by the municipality. They should make alternative accommodation for us.
