Pune: Mundhwa Police Recover 15 Phones Stolen From Passengers In PMPML Buses

Pune, 29th April 2023: The officials from Mundhwa Police Station have arrested two thieves for stealing mobile phones from passengers travelling in the PMPML buses.

The accused, identified as Harshal Manoj Panchal (21) and Imran Taj Shaikh (22), both residents of Sarvodya Colony in Mundhwa, were caught by the police under the Mundhwa railway bridge. The police officers seized a total of 15 mobile phones worth Rs 1,70,000/- from the accused. The accused were arrested based on a tip-off received by policemen Dinesh Rane and Mahesh Pathak.

Senior Police Inspector Ajit Lakde, in-charge of Mundhwa police station, said that during the investigation, the accused confessed to stealing mobile phones from bus stops in Keshavnagar, Mundhwa, Chandannagar and Hadapsar. The police officers are currently analyzing the seized mobile phones and are expecting to recover more stolen devices.

The action was taken by a team comprising Inspector (Crime) Pradip Kakade, Detection Branch’s Assistant Police Inspector Sandip Jore and police personnel Dinesh Rane, Bhandurg, Vaibhav More, Mahesh Pathak, Rahul More, Swapnil Raskar, and Sachin Patil.
