Pune-Mumbai Sinhagad Express To Have A Separate Coach For Women : MP Barne

Maval, 29th November 2023: In the Lok Sabha constituency of Maval, significant developments and improvements in infrastructure have been announced, particularly in the railway sector. According to information provided by Member of Parliament Shrirang Barane, the completion of a 102-feet bridge at Avalas on the Karjat-Khopoli road has been accomplished.

In addition to the infrastructure developments, a noteworthy announcement has been made regarding the Sinhagad Express. A separate compartment for women will be added to the Sinhagad Express, aiming to provide women travelling from Pune to Mumbai with enhanced comfort and safety.

Shiv Sena MP Srirang Barne chaired a meeting focused on the Mumbai section of the Central Railway, covering Lonavala to Panvel, Karjat, and Uran. Present at the meeting were railway officials, including Railway Manager Rajnish Kumar Goyal, Additional Manager Akhlaq Ahmed, and others. The meeting addressed ongoing works in Lonavala, Karjat, Neral, Uran, and Panvel.

MP Barne emphasized the need to expedite railway works and ensure the timely completion of the over-bridge. Additionally, responding to a demand from commuters, a separate compartment for women in the Sinhagad Express was discussed. Officials have assured that a dedicated coach for women will be added at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) railway station.

Further developments include the construction of sheds on platforms one and two at Neral railway station for passenger convenience. Efforts are also underway to transform Lonavala station into an ideal station, given the significant influx of tourists. The Coaching Complex at Panvel Railway Station is in progress, with one phase already completed.

MP Barne has announced that officials have assured the commencement of a local train service between Panvel and Uran shortly. Moreover, beautification projects for Lonavala, Karjat, Neral, and Panvel railway stations are in the pipeline. These initiatives aim to enhance the overall travel experience for passengers in the Maval constituency and Pune District.
