Pune: Multi-Vehicle Collision On Bhumkar Bridge, 4 Persons Injured
Narhe, 2nd December 2023: In a harrowing incident on Saturday around 5:30 AM, a truck collided with five vehicles on the Bhumkar Bridge in on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, causing significant damage and chaos. Astonishingly, one of the vehicles involved in the collision was carried away for a staggering one and a half kilometres.
Fortunately, no lives were lost in the accident, but it did result in injuries to four individuals. The injured victims have been promptly admitted to a nearby hospital for necessary medical attention and treatment.
The collision occurred when the truck collided with a Shivshahi bus belonging to the Maharashtra State Road Transport (ST) Corporation and subsequently struck a tipper loaded with crush. The impact of the collision extended to a pick-up truck and a car, both severely hit from the right side. The most startling aspect of the incident unfolded when the truck, after colliding with the front of a passing car, carried the vehicle for a considerable distance of one and a half kilometres.
Emergency response teams swiftly arrived at the scene, including personnel from Sinhagad Police Station, Sinhagad Traffic Police, Bharti Vidyapeeth Traffic Police, and National Highway Patrol. Their quick response aided in clearing the traffic congestion and ensuring the safety of the affected area.
