Pune: MP Supriya Sule Threatens Hunger Strike Over Delay in Setting Up Power Substation in Bavdhan
Bavdhan, 3rd November 2023: MP Supriya Sule has expressed her growing frustration with the delay in setting up a substation in Bavdhan, and she is now threatening to go on a hunger strike if her demands are not met by November 20.
Sule has been actively pursuing the establishment of a substation in the Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency and has even suggested a suitable location for it. However, despite her repeated demands and follow-ups, there has been no action taken regarding the substation. She took to Twitter to voice her concerns, tagging MSEDCL, Pune Municipal Corporation, PMRDA, and Pune Collector, and issued a stern warning.
In her tweet, she emphasized the necessity of the substation for the convenience of the public and expressed her disappointment that the power department has not taken any action, even though a suitable site has been suggested. She announced her plan to stage a hunger strike on November 20 if the issue is not resolved promptly.
Supriya Sule stated on social media, “I am continuously pursuing for Bavdhan substation in Baramati Lok Sabha Constituency. The site required for this has also been suggested. But still, no action has been taken to set up a substation here. MSEDCL has not taken immediate notice of this and cleared the issue of the substation, but for Bavdhankars, I will sit on a hunger strike here on November 20. This substation is necessary for the convenience of the public, but, unfortunately, the power department is not taking action even when the site is suggested.”
She concluded by stating that if MSEDCL does not address the issue promptly, she will commence a hunger strike on November 20, advocating for the residents of Bavdhan.
