Baramati, 15th March 2023: MP Supriya Sule today demanded the central government to cooperate for the post-harvesting management projects to be done in the Baramati Assembly constituency. After meeting Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and discussing this, she also gave a written letter regarding the same.

A ‘Post Harvest Management Project’ will be set up in the talukas of Baramati, Indapur, Daund, and Purandar and such a proposal has been made on behalf of the Agriculture Department.

If this project starts, the farmers of these four talukas will get big benefits and it will be easy to process the crops, vegetables, and fruits. This will give the goods a fair price. Also, employment in this area will get strength. MP Sule has said in the letter that it will help in raising the standard of living of farmers and citizens of this area.

The central government will bear 90 per cent (Rs 1857.69 lakh) and the state government will bear the remaining 10 per cent (Rs 206.4 lakh) of the cost incurred for these projects. Sule requested Goyal that the central government should take a positive stand in this regard considering the interests of the farmers.
