Pune: Mother’s Boyfriend Booked For Molesting Teenage Girl

Ravet, 30th August 2024: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly molested by her mother’s boyfriend. After getting the complaint, Pimpri Chinchwad police registered a case and arrested the 45-year-old accused from Hadapsar.
Based on a complaint from the victim, Ravet Police Station has registered an FIR against the accused.
According to information provided by Senior Police Inspector Nitin Phatangare, in charge of the Ravet Police Station, the victim’s mother and father have been living separately for the past six years. The victim and her brother reside with their mother in a housing society in Ravet. The accused works as a manager at a company. He is married and has children. The victim’s mother has been in a romantic relationship with him since 2019. He often visits the victim’s home.
About a year ago, the accused attempted to behave inappropriately with the girl when her mother was not at home. The girl informed her mother, but the matter was ignored. On 8th August, when the victim was home alone, he molested her again. After the girl screamed, he released her. On 28th August, the girl told her class teacher about the incident. Considering the seriousness of the situation, the teacher immediately informed the principal. The principal then contacted the women officers of the Damini Squad and reported what had happened to the girl. The police promptly registered a case and arrested the accused.
When the accused was brought before the court, he was remanded to police custody for two days. Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Deshmukh is conducting further investigation.
