Pune: Mother Beaten To Death By Son For Refusing Money For Alcohol
Yerwada, 16th May 2024: A son beat his mother with a stick, leading to her death, reportedly due to her refusal to pay for alcohol. The incident occurred between May 13 and 15 in Yerwada.
A case of murder has been registered against the son and grandson involved. The deceased has been identified as Mangal Mohan Netke, aged 60. Her son Mayur Mohan Netke and minor grandson are both named as accused in the case. Sandhya Arun Waghmare, aged 50 and Mangal Netke’s niece, lodged a complaint in this regard.
According to police, Mayur allegedly demanded money from her for purchasing alcohol. When she refused, Mayur, along with his minor son, reportedly assaulted her with sticks in a fit of rage. The assault resulted in severe injuries, and Mangal was rushed to Sassoon Hospital. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Murder Incident in Handewadi
In another incident, a young man employed at a local hotel was brutally murdered in an open space near Rhythm Society at Handewadi in the Hadapsar area. The victim, identified as Rajendra Rambhau Shejul, aged 35, was the target of the attack. Bhagyashree Rajendra Shejul, aged 29, has lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar police station.
