Pune: Mother and Son Killed in Rickshaw Accident, Daughter Seriously Injured
Pune, 14th October 2024: An accident claimed the lives of a mother and her son, while the daughter sustained serious injuries in Rajnane village, Rajgad taluka, on Sunday evening (October 13). The accident occurred around 9 p.m. when their rickshaw met with an accident.
The deceased have been identified as Shalan Pasalkar (65) and her son, Deepak Pasalkar (45), both residents of Daund taluka and natives of Rajgad. Their daughter, Kavita Maral (40), a resident of Kanand, Rajgad, was seriously injured in the incident.
According to the police, Shalan and Deepak had gone to visit Kavita at her home in Kanand village. The accident occurred within the limits of Rajnane village as they were returning to Pune via Pabe Ghat.
Locals reported that a large tree had fallen on the road due to heavy rainfall in the area where the accident occurred. Initial reports suggest that the rickshaw crashed into a small bridge in Rajnane village, possibly due to the obstructed road.
Dr. Swagat Rinde of Khanapur informed the Disaster Management team, who quickly responded to the scene. The rescue team, led by Tanaji Bhosale and other members, removed the fallen tree and cleared the road for traffic.
The injured daughter, Kavita, is receiving treatment, while the incident is under further investigation.
