Pune: Monsoon 2020 enters Maharashtra, predicted to reach Pune in next 48 hours

Pune, June 11, 2020: The Southwest Monsoon has entered into Maharashtra and Goa on Thursday. While it has covered southern Maharashtra advancing upto Harnai and Solapur, monsoon is set to reach Pune and Mumbai in the next couple of days, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune..

Covering the states of Karnataka and Goa, monsoon has reached Konkan, Central Maharashtra and Marathwada. As per KS Hosalikar, Deputy Director General of Meteorology, IMD, Mumbai, conditions are favourable for the further advance of monsoon in the state in the next 48 hours.

Heavy rainfall in Pune district

IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in Marathwada and Central Maharashtra in the next 48 hours, Hosalikar added while speaking via video conferencing.

Orange warning has also been issued to Pune district, as IMD Pune has predicted heavy rains and landslides in isolated places in Pune district in the next 48 hours.
