Aundh, 19th August 2021: A Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) worker from Pune, who is a big fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had built a ‘Modi Temple’ in Aundh. However, the temple was removed overnight after being scolded by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and opposition by the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) workers.

NCP workers had warned to offer ‘offerings’ to the bust of PM Modi in the temple today but the bust was removed.

The temple was built by BJP worker Mayur Munde on his own land on DP Road in Aundh. He had spent Rs 1.60 lakh on this. The temple was inaugurated on 15th August 2021, at the hands of a senior citizen of Aundh KK Naidu. But now the temple has been removed overnight. The bust has now been moved to a neighbouring corporator’s office.

The removal of the bust has sparked controversy. NCP workers have become aggressive and will lodge a complaint at Chaturshrungi police station regarding the stealing of the idol of Narendra Modi.
