Pune: Minor Boy Held For Mobile Phone Thefts, 10 Handsets Recovered

Hadapsar, 10th December 2023: In a significant achievement in the ongoing battle against mobile theft in Pune city, the Pune Police, under the directive of Police Commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, successfully apprehended a minor boy in connection with multiple thefts.

The operation, carried out by Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi and his team from Unit-05, Crime Branch, led to the recovery of 10 stolen mobile phones valued at Rs. 1,45,500/-, along with the seizure of a motorcycle.

Acting on information, the police team patrolled within the limits of Hadapsar Police Station and detained the minor suspect from Sasane Nagar. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the stolen mobile phones were taken from various locations within Pune city. The seized items include 10 mobile phones and a motorcycle.

The investigation has uncovered a total of 10 crimes registered across multiple police stations in Pune city. These crimes include cases under IPC sections 392 (Robbery), 34 (Acts done by Several Persons in Furtherance of Common Intention), and 379 (Theft). The registered cases are distributed among Wanowrie Police Station, Hadapsar Police Station, Chandan Nagar Police Station, Pune Airport Police Station, Lonavala City Police Station, and Chakan Police Station.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police, Crime, Ramnath Pokle, Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende and Assistant Commissioner of Police Satish Govekar. The team included Police Inspector Mahesh Bolkotgi, Assistant Police Inspector Krishna Babar, and Police Sub-Inspectors Avinash Lohote and Chaitali Gapat, and police personnel Pramod Tilekar, Ashruba Morale, Daya Shegar, Ramesh Sable, Pallavi More, Rajas Sheikh, Pratap Gaikwad, Prithviraj Pandule, Vinod Shivale, Dawood Syed, Akbar Sheikh, Amit Kamble, Shahaji Kale, Shashikant Nale, Vilas Khandare and Pandurang Kamble.
