Pune, 30th July 2023: The ongoing metro construction work in Shivajinagar has brought significant traffic alterations to Pune. The construction of metro pillars from Simla Chowk to Veer Chafekar Chowk has necessitated adjustments in traffic flow.

Initially, traffic was restricted on the independent lane leading to the Shivajinagar Police Headquarters following a previous order. However, the presence of barricades at Simla Office Chowk resulted in traffic slowdowns, prompting authorities to reevaluate the arrangement.

To further complicate matters, the Police Headquarters has scheduled a parade and various programs on August 15. With these events coinciding with the metro construction work, efficient traffic management at Simla Office Chowk is crucial.

In response, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Vijaykumar Magar, has announced temporary traffic modifications under the Shivajinagar Traffic Division. Starting from July 30, 2023, the 10.5 feet road alongside the footpath of the Police Headquarters Wall will be opened for traffic between Vir Chafekar Chowk and the Police Headquarters Gate. This alternative route will remain in operation until further notice.

The aim of these modifications is to streamline traffic flow around Vir Chafekar Chowk amid significant infrastructure development in the city.
