Pune: Mephedrone Drug Worth Rs 27 Lakh Seized By Pimpri Chinchwad Police

Talegaon, 6th April 2022: The sleuths from the Crime Branch of Pimpri Chinchwad Police have seized 272 grams of Mephedrone (MD) drug from a man on Tuesday.

Based on a complaint from Head Constable Namdev Wadekar of the Anti-Arms Squad, an FIR has been registered at Talegaon MIDC Police Station against Nadeem Inayat Patel (33), a native of Mumbra in Thane. He has been living in Talegaon for the last few years.

Acting on a tip-off received by Head Constable Wadekar, a trap was laid near Sant Tukaram Maharaj Kamani on the way to Bhandaradongar on Tuesday and the accused was arrested. He had put up a board of ‘PRESS’ on his car.

A search led to the recovery of the MD drugs, also known as ‘Meow Meow drug’, from the accused. Besides the drugs worth Rs 27 lakh, police have seized his car worth Rs five lakh, two mobile phones and Rs 16,700 cash from his possession.

The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Krishna Prakash, DCP Kakasaheb Dole, ACPs Prashant Amrutkar and Padmakar Ghanwat.

The team included Police Inspector Rajendra Nikalje, PSI Bharat Gosavi, ASI Lakhankumar Wavhale, Sham Shinde, Head Constables Chandrakant Gawari, Pritam Wagh, Namdev Wadekar, Wasim Shaikh, Constables Pravin Muluk and Mohsin Attar.
