Pune : Mephedrone And Poppy Straw Worth Rs 3.39 Lakh Seized, Two Arrested
Pune 9th Sept 2023: The Anti Narcotics Cell of Pimpri Chinchwad Police has arrested two people from Pune-Bangalore Highway and have seized Poppy Straw and Mephedrone worth Rs 3.39 lakh from their possession. The police have also booked the person who was supposed to receive the drug and the person who had supplied it to the arrested accused from Rajasthan.
According to officials, the information was received about a person possessing drugs near Bavdhan on Pune-Bangalore Highway. Accordingly, the police team laid a trap and two accused identified as Raviprakash Sukhram Bishnoi (37) and Sureshkumar Sairam Bishnoi (30), both residents of Rajasthan were taken into custody. The police officials found 61 grams of Mephedrone and 1.705 Kg of Poppy Straw in their possession.
During the further investigation, it was revealed that the drugs were brought from a person identified as Sonu Jalora from Rajasthan and it was supposed to be supplied to a person identified as Jaiprakash Bishnoi who resides in Hinjewadi. The police have also booked both accused and have launched a search for them. A case under relevant sections has been registered at Hinjewadi Police Station and police are investigating further in the matter.
