Pune: Men Planning To Loot ATM Machine Attack Cops, One Injured

Pune 8th July 2023: The members of the Crime Branch team of the Pune City Police had a narrow escape on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday after a gang planning to loot ATM machine in the city attacked them with a sharp weapons and also pointed a gun at them.

The incident took place in Mhada Vasahat area of Warje Malwadi where the police team had gone to conduct a combing operation. However, during the operation police team noticed several suspect standing near the Rosary school in the area. As police were going towards them, one of the accused pointed gun at policemen and tried to open fire.

The police team then opened fire at the suspects after which one of the accused threw sharp weapons to attack the police personnel. A police constable sustained injuries in the incident and police have managed to nab five accused while they were trying to flee from the spot. Fourt to five suspect have managed to escape from the spot.

Police have seized pistols and other weapons from the arrested accused and it has been revealed that they were planning to loot an ATM Machine in the city. All the arrested accused have criminal background and they were booked in serious offences in the past, said police.

A case in this regard is being registered at Warje Malwadi Police Station and police are investigating further in the matter.
