Pune: Massive Fire Destroys Five Houses and Shop in Ghorpade Peth, No Casualties Reported

Ghorpade Peth, 17th October 2024: A major fire broke out in a ground floor plus double storey house with a tin shed on top at Joshi Wada, Ghorpade Peth, near Panchhaud Tower in the early hours of Thursday (17th October). The incident occurred at around 3:47 am.

After getting information, the Fire Brigade dispatched a total of five fire engines and two water tankers to the spot, with two fire engines and two water tankers coming from the headquarters, and one fire engine each from Kasba, Erandwane, and Gangadham fire stations. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing five houses and a small shop located in Joshi Wada. A large quantity of clothing stored on the upper floor of the house was completely destroyed in the blaze.

The fire brigade personnel managed to extinguish the fire by spraying water from all four sides. No casualties or injuries were reported during the incident. Two gas cylinders were safely removed from the affected house as a precaution.

The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
