Pune: Married Woman Staying In Live-In With Other Man Ends Life After Harassment

Kharadi, 11th April 2022: A 27-year-old woman died by suicide after jumping from the 10th floor of a building in the Kharadi area after being harassed by her husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law. She had come to Pune for education.

 

The deceased has been identified as Mansi Yadav (27), a native of Madhya Pradesh. A case has been registered against husband Bhupendra Yadav (30), father-in-law Mulayam Singh (52), mother-in-law Rajkumari (50), all from Madhya Pradesh) and friend Shirish Shah (33), resident of Manjari. Mansi’s father has lodged a complaint at Chandannagar police station.

 

Mansi had come to Pune for higher education. After settling in Pune, she got acquainted with Shirish Shah, a real estate agent. The two were living together. After learning about it, her husband and in-laws wanted a divorce. On the other hand, Shah wanted Mansi to marry him.

 

Due to the harassment, Mansi jumped into the river in Chandannagar area on April 5 and tried to commit suicide. However, she was pulled out of the water by people. Later in the night, Mansi jumped from the balcony on the tenth floor at around 8.30 pm.

 

Mansi’s father recently lodged a complaint with the police. He has said in the complaint that she died by suicide due to harassment. Assistant Police Inspector Manohar Sonawane is investigating the case.
