Pune, 13th May 2023: In a tragic incident, a man took his own life at his residence after allegedly facing harassment from his wife and her parents over property matters. Following a complaint filed at Hadapsar police station, authorities have registered a case against the five in-laws of the deceased for abetment to suicide.

The deceased has been identified as Santoshkumar Babaso Kore. The accused in the case include Raveena Santosh Kumar Kore (resident of Varwand, Pune), Ranjana Damodar Irle, Damodar Irle, Sangram Damodar Irle, and Ganesh Diwekar. Yashoda Babaso Kore (55), a resident of Koli, Taluka Sangola, District Solapur, has lodged the complaint against the accused. The incidents leading up to the suicide occurred between 21st November 2019 and 31st August 2022.

According to the police, the complainant’s son, Santosh Kumar, had been subjected to harassment by his wife, Raveena, and her parents, Ranjana and Damodar Irle, regarding property disputes. Allegedly, on the 31st of August 2022, they incited Santosh Kumar to take his own life, resulting in his suicide by hanging. Subsequently, the accused withdrew money from his bank account and misappropriated the funds. Additionally, Raveena deceived Yashoda Kore by fraudulently transferring the ownership of the flat and land to her name using counterfeit documents.

The Hadapsar Police have cited a delay in the case due to its filing under CrPC 156/3. Investigations into the matter are going on.
