Pune : Man Arrested For Duping Aspirant Of Ts 12 Lakh On Pretext Of Job In Volkswagen

Pune 29th August 2023: The Cyber Cell Unit of Pune City Police has arrested a man from Haryana for duping a job aspirant for Rs 11,91,419 on pretext of giving job in the Volkswagen company. The complainant was approached by the accused pretending to be employees of ‘Top Career Consultancy’ through e-mail and phone from Gurgaon, Haryana and offered to give job as Senior General Manager at the company in their unit located outside India.

The accused asked the aspirant to make online payment on several occasions using a link. However, when he realised that he has been duped he approached the city cyber police to lodge a complaint in the matter. The police team while investigating the case, traced the the accused to Haryana during the technical analysis.

The accused identified as Parmanand Malik (29) was taken into custody he has been sent to police custody in the matter. The police have appealed people to reach out to cyber police for similar fraud reported with them as the investigation has revealed that the accused have duped more people using the same modus operandi. The police are investigating further to find out involvement of more accused in the case.
