Pune: Mama Kills Bhanja After Argument and Drinking Session Following Anant Chaturdashi Performance
Chakan, 19th September 2024: Under the influence of alcohol, a man murdered his nephew near Chakan. This occurred after the Mama-Bhanja duo returned from playing instruments at Anant Chaturdashi in Mumbai. After returning, a fight broke out, where the Uncle choked the nephew to death. The incident came to light earlier today.
The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Khande (40), a resident of Rase. Police have arrested his maternal uncle, Suresh Menghal (36), also from Rase.
According to police reports, the accused and the victim, who is related as uncle and nephew, had argued a few days ago after drinking. Last night, after consuming alcohol again, another argument ensued, during which Suresh murdered his nephew, Sandeep. On Anant Chaturdashi, the two had gone to Mumbai to play instruments and earned Rs 440, which led to a drinking session last night. This escalated into a fight, ending in Suresh choking his nephew to death. Chakan police quickly arrived at the scene and detained the accused, who had confessed to the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
