Warje, 2nd September 2024: A major accident occurred on Warje Bridge in Pune this evening, involving a collision between ten vehicles. The incident happened in front of Hyderabad Biryani at the Katraj Dehu Road Bypass section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway around 7:30 PM. Although there were no fatalities, the vehicles involved sustained extensive damage.

According to eyewitnesses, a Tata four-wheeler lost control and rear-ended a Maruti Swift. The subsequent chain reaction caused other vehicles to collide as they tried to avoid the initial crash. After the accident, there was a delay of about half an hour before the highway and local traffic police arrived at the scene. The Warje Traffic Branch then took charge and cleared the traffic jam by removing the damaged vehicles.

The narrowness of Warje Bridge and the large number of potholes on the highway contribute to frequent traffic jams and accidents in this area. As a result, accidents have become a regular occurrence due to congestion and poor road conditions.
