Pune: Mahavikas Aghadi Calls for March and Nationwide Bandh Over Badlapur Sexual Assault Case

Pune, 23rd August 2024: In the wake of the sexual assault case in Badlapur, Thane district, the Mahavikas Aghadi has called for a march tomorrow, Saturday, 23rd August 2024, in Pune. Many people, including political parties, students, and their parents, are expected to participate. The Mahavikas Aghadi has also called for a nationwide bandh and urged everyone to join.

This information was shared during a press conference held in Pune, where Indian National Congress Pune City President Arvind Shinde, Nationalist Congress Sharadchandra Pawar Party (NCP-SP) Pune City President Prashant Jagtap, and Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Pune City President Sanjay More provided the details.

The march will start tomorrow at 10 AM from Lal Mahal and will proceed to Tilak Chowk via Belbaug Chowk and Laxmi Road. At Tilak Chowk, a meeting will be held under the chief presence of Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson Sushma Andhare. Senior Congress leader Ulhas Pawar, former MP Vandana Chavan, former Minister Balasaheb Shivarkar, and Ankush Kakade will also be present.

Congress City President Arvind Shinde stated, “This march will be held for the safety of women and girls. All parties, social organizations, and NGOs affiliated with the Mahavikas Aghadi will participate. We also encourage parents and students from the city to join us in this march.”
