Pune: Love Birds Cafe Owner and Operator Booked for Encouraging Obscenity

Ravet, 9th July 2024: A case has been registered against the owner and operator of a coffee shop for illegally operating the establishment and providing space for young people to engage in intimate activities. This action was carried out by the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of Pimpri Chinchwad police yesterday at 5:45 PM in Ravet.

AHTU Women Police Constable Sangita Ramnath Jadhav reported this incident to Ravet Police Station. Ravet Police have registered a case against Dheeraj Prakash Mohite (age 22, resident of Wakad) and Bhagyashri Laxman Dhakane (age 34, resident of Beed) under the relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act of 1951.

According to information provided by AHTU Police Inspector Devendra Chavan, the accused started a “Love Birds Cafe” without the necessary license. The shop provided space where young people could sit and engage in obscenity and intimate behaviour in public areas where food is sold. Upon receiving this information, the AHTU conducted a raid and registered a case against the cafe’s operator and owner.”

The case was transferred to Ravet Police, and Police Constable Kale from Ravet Police Station is now investigating this matter further.
