Lonavala, 24th July 2024: Continuous heavy rainfall in Lonavala, similar to the rest of Pune district, has led to the closure of schools under the Lonavala Municipal Council (LMC) for Thursday, July 25, and Friday, July 26. This decision has been made to ensure the safety and well-being of students amid the ongoing severe weather conditions.

LMC CEO Ashok Sabale announced the closure, noting that the mountainous region frequently experiences heavy rains. While the monsoon season brings scenic beauty, it also poses challenges when the rain becomes excessive. The decision to close schools reflects the need to prioritize student safety. However, teachers and other staff are expected to report to work as usual.
