Pune: Lonavala Schools and Colleges Host Competitions on Social Issues under Sankalp Nashamukti Abhiyan

Lonavala, 5th September 2024: As part of the Sankalp Nashamukti Abhiyan initiative led by IPS Satya Sai Karthik, Assistant Superintendent of the Lonavala Division, various competitions have been organized in schools and colleges within the Lonavala area. Essay writing and drawing competitions are being held to raise awareness about female safety, safe travel, rehabilitation from addiction, and other important social issues.

For the group from 5th to 7th grade, essay and drawing topics include “My Safe Trip,” “Addiction is an Invitation to Death,” and “Girls’ Safety: A Social Responsibility.” For the 8th to 10th-grade group, topics include “Addiction: A Stigma,” “Safe Tourism, Responsible Tourism,” and “Female Security: The Need of the Hour.” The open group, which includes students beyond the 11th grade, features topics such as “Risky Tourism: A Challenge to the Tourism Industry,” “Sankalp Nashamukti: Creating a Responsible Youth Generation,” and “Women’s Safety: A Challenge to Society.”

According to the group, you must choose one subject for your essay or drawing. Additionally, in the open category, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students’ parents can participate. The essay and drawing competition will be held at the school level, and the top three entries will be forwarded to the concerned office with the Principal’s or Head Teacher’s signature and the school’s stamp, which is mandatory.

On the prize distribution day, the drawings and essays will be exhibited. This event will take place on a suitable day after Ganesh Utsav. A book featuring all the winning essays and drawings will also be created. The list of winners, along with their essays and drawings, must be submitted to the nearest police station by September 20th. Essays can be written in English or Marathi.

All essays and drawings will be judged by a committee consisting of Police Constable Nitesh Kawade, Vishal Padale, Bapu Lal Tare, and Vishal Vikari.
