Pune: Lok Adalat Grants Rs 47.9 Lakh Compensation To Woman Disabled Due To Accident
Pune, 3rd May 2023: In a heartwarming display of justice and compassion, the implementation of ‘justice at doorstep’ has brought relief to a disabled woman who was a victim of a tragic accident.
In a beautiful gesture, the District and Sessions Judge SR Navandar personally met with the woman to sign the compromise documents and presented her with a settlement cheque, granting her the compensation she deserved.
The Lok Adalat was approached by Naina Ganesh Bora of Shirur, the litigant who was a victim of the accident and suffered from a severe head injury, which caused 100% disability. With the help of her lawyers, Adv. Shashikant Bagmar and Adv. Ninad Bagmar, a compensation claim was filed against Oriental Insurance Company.
The panel, headed by Judge Navandar and Adv. Atul Gunjal granted the claim and ordered the insurance company to pay Rs 47 lakh and 90 thousand as compensation. The swift and just decision was made possible due to the cooperation of Principal District Judge Shyam Chandak and Principal Member of Motor Accident Tribunal Judge B. P. Kshirsagar.
The disabled litigant expressed her gratitude and happiness at receiving justice in a short period of time. The kind and compassionate gesture of the judge in meeting her personally and presenting her with the settlement cheque left her relieved and satisfied. The case was argued by Adv. Satyajit Lonkar on behalf of the insurance company.
