Koregaon Park, 16th October 2024: Lakhs of liters of water were wasted after a water supply pipe from the Lashkar Water Supply Center to the Koregaon Park area burst. The pipe reportedly burst early Tuesday morning (15th October) during digging for the Sadhu Vaswani bridge construction using a JCB machine.

Despite local citizens promptly informing the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) about the incident, the PMC later announced that water supply on both sides of South Main Road and North Main Road in Koregaon Park had been disrupted.

Residents noticed that water pressure from the Lashkar Water Supply Center was low in the morning. After the supply resumed, a significant amount of water began leaking from the burst pipe. At this point, the JCB operator attempted to extract water from the pit.

In response, the PMC immediately stopped the water supply to the affected area. However, water continued to flow in large quantities despite shutting off the supply, making it difficult for the PMC to locate the exact source of the leak. The repair work on the burst pipe began around 2 pm and continued late into the night.
