Pune: Khadki Cantonment Board To Create Oxygen Bank

Khadki, 24 April 2021: In the wake of the shortage of oxygen, the Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) has decided to create an oxygen bank. Similarly, Dehu Road Cantonment Board and Pune Cantonment Board too will get oxygen cylinders, said KCB chief executive officer Pramod Kumar Singh.

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Cantonment hospital currently has 70 oxygen beds and if needed, more 30 to 40 oxygen cylinders can be made available. These cylinders can be kept reserved at this oxygen bank. If needed the cylinders can be made available through it.

Singh said, “We are also planning to buy Dura Oxygen cylinders one Dura cylinder is equal to 10 oxygen cylinders. It has liquid oxygen in it. The Rotary club has donated 10 such jumbo cylinders to Board. We are thinking of starting an oxygen plant which requires Rs 3 crore. We have sent a letter to the Defence ministry and await their approval”.
