Pune: Khadakwasla Dam To Release Over 22,000 Cusecs Water From 9 AM Today

Pune, 29th July 2024: The water discharge from the Panshet dam spillway has been increased to 15,136 cusecs as of 4:00 am today due to the rapid rise in water levels and heavy rainfall in the catchment area. The Sub Divisional Engineer of the Mutha Canal Irrigation Sub-Division in Pune has informed that this discharge rate may be adjusted depending on future rainfall and water availability.

Similarly, the discharge from the Khadakwasla dam spillway into the Mutha river basin will be increased from 18,491 cusecs to 22,880 cusecs at 9:00 am. This adjustment has been made in response to the ongoing heavy rains. Authorities have indicated that the discharge rate may be further modified as required by changing weather conditions.

Residents in areas downstream of these dams are advised to stay informed about water levels and follow any advisories issued by local authorities to ensure safety.
