Pune: Khadakwasla Dam to Release 5,136 Cusecs of Water Today From 3 PM

Pune, 28th July 2024: Today, in response to rapidly increasing water levels and heavy rainfall in the catchment area, the Khadakwasla Dam will commence discharging 5,136 cusecs of water from its spillway into the Mutha River basin at 3 PM. This action is being taken to manage the dam’s capacity and ensure safety in the surrounding areas.

 

The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has issued a caution that the discharge rate may be adjusted, either increased or decreased, based on the ongoing rainfall and water inflow. Residents and concerned parties are urged to stay informed about potential changes.

 

Executive Engineer Shweta Kurhade emphasized that residents must avoid entering the riverbed during this period. Additionally, any belongings, materials, or animals currently in the riverbed should be moved immediately to prevent loss or harm. Residents of low-lying areas should be informed promptly and necessary precautions should be taken.

 

The Khadakwasla Irrigation Department has requested all citizens to exercise vigilance and take appropriate safety measures.
