Pune: Khadakwasla Dam Filled Upto 96% Of Capacity, Discharge Likely To Start Soon Into Mutha River

Pune 28th Sept 2023: As the city and catchment areas of Pune have recieved a good rainfall for the last few days the water levels in the dams that supply water to Pune have increased. The water level in the Khadakwasla dam has reached upto 96% of its capacity and the officials are soon likely to discharge the water into Mutha river.

According to officials, the catchment area of Khadakwasla dam has been reporting continuous rain and if this continues the water discharge will soon be started into the Mutha river. “The citizens are requested to not enter the river and remove their belongings including animals from the river basin. The people living in the low lying areas should be informed about the development and they should take necessary precautions” the officials from the irrigation department said.

The water level in the four dams of Khadakwasla cluster has reached 96.85% (28.23 TMC) compared to 99.88% (29.12 TMC) reported on the same day last year.
