Pune: Junior Engineer Of MSEDCL Arrested For Asking Bribe Of Rs 50,000

Bhosari, 25th August 2022: A junior engineer of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to close the electricity meter connection in a company. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) verified and took action against the junior engineer.

 

The junior engineer has been identified as Santoshkumar Balasaheb Gitte (31). A 79-year-old man filed a case in this regard. According to the information given by the ACB, the complainant has a company in the MIDC Bhosari area. He submitted an application to Bhosari Sub Division One office to cut the connection of the electricity meter of his company.

 

The accused is working as Junior Engineer in this office and demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to shut down the electricity connection in the complainant’s company. The complainant complained to ACB regarding this. ACB conducted verification on August 12, 13 and 17. and the junior engineer Gitte was detained by ACB.

 

A case has been registered in this regard at MIDC Bhosari Police Station. The police inspector of the ACB unit Virnath Mane is investigating the case.
