Pune Journalist Assaulted with sharp weapons for clicking photo illegal liquor trade

Pune, May 6, 2020: A 39-year-old journalist sustained injuries after he was attacked by four miscreants for clocking photo of their illegal liquor sale business. The injured journalist Bhushan Garud (39), a resident of Appar Indiranagar in Bibvewadi. He worked with Police Kartavya Times and Marathi newspaper Punnyanagri. He is lodging complaint with Pune police.

Garud said that the incident took place from 7.30 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday. He was attacked with a chopper on his head by four miscreants. The accused were angry that I had clicked their photos of unloading illicit liquor after which they carried out the murderous assault, he said.

The state government has taken decision to open liquor shops from 10 am to 6 pm. There are massive crowds outside the liquor shops in Pune and other parts of the state. However, in Mumbai from today all liquor shops and other non-essential shops have been closed again due to crowding outside the shops.
