Pune : Joint Action Committee (JAC) launches many initiatives for welfare of drivers

Pune, August 26, 2019 : Joint Action Committee (JAC), a Committee for Joining Efforts into Actions for Better Drivers, is initiated by three organizations, i.e. All India Confederation of Goods Vehicles’ Owners Association (ACOGOA)- an apex national body of all Goods Vehicles’ Owners (Truck Owners or Truckwallahs), Drivers Duniya magazine — India’s only English Quarterly magazine on Truck Drivers and Transport Industry, &Naya Manch Vikas Manch (NMVM) Foundation – with an aim to make truck driving a respectable profession, a profession of choice (#DriverByChoice).

JAC’s vision is to energize and encourage various stakeholders and like-minded associations, organizations and individuals to collaborate and unify their efforts into deliverable action goals for the betterment and welfare of drivers and transport community.

JAC wants to appeal to all stakeholder of Transport Community including Drivers, Vehicle Owners & Operators, Transporters, Corporates, Fuel Retail Outlets & Oil Marketing Companies, Dhabas and Highway Amenities, Associations & Organizations, NGOs & Foundations, Government & Law Enforcement Officer etc. to join and collaborate in enabling Better Drivers through deliverable action goalsof driver welfare, driver helpline services, better highway amenities, improved road safety, anti-corruption campaign, protect human rights, represent issues with government and policy makers.

JAC was started by 3 organizations, is now having 8 sponsors and 24 associates who are joining and unifying their efforts to make JAC 30+ Strong. JAC is confident to grow from 30+ to 300+ to even 3000+ in its efforts for betterment and welfare of drivers and transport community.

The initiatives include : #RoadTrip Pune2Jaipur 26-31 Aug’19

JAC understands that the issues impacting the Drivers and Transport Community cant be understood sitting in offices, and hence decided that it will undertake #RoadTrip, to get a real-time feel and on-the-road experience of the various issues.

The first and inaugural #RoadTrip will be from Pune to Jaipur from 26-31 Aug 2019, passing through the important states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. JAC will be covering over 1200KMs on one of the most busiest routes and plan to interact and engage with 2500 drivers by involving participation from local association, dhabas, fuel outlets etc. JAC will undertake such #RoadTrips every 3 months (quarter) on different routes.

JAC believes that the #RoadTrip will be very helpful for the following

• Understand the pains, issues, problems and hurdles of the Drivers
• Encouraging local associations to unite and join efforts to create a support network
• Understanding road safety hazards and bringing road safety awareness
• Promote the road safety campaign “Dekho, Rukko, Bacho”
• Highlighting road side facilities, accident spot and amenities
• Meeting Law Enforcement Officers to reduce corruption and harassment

#DriverForce — JAC realizes that today Drivers don’t have anyone to listen to their complaints or grievances. Hence one of the first thing that JAC wants to do is start a Driver Helpline Service. JAC is proud to announce the launch of #DriverForce (8698247365) a 24×7, 365 Days Driver Helpline Service. JAC has launched a social media campaign called “GhantiBajao” — which is a missed call on #DriverForce (8698247365) to register with it.

JAC wants all stakeholders including Drivers, Vehicle Owners & Operators, Transporters, Corporates, Fuel Retail Outlets & Oil Marketing Companies, Dhabas and Highway Amenities, Associations & Organizations. NGOs & Foundations, Government to give a missed call on 8698-24-7-365 to register with Driver Force. Its DriverForce is expected to go live soon whereby when anyone call #DriverForce they will be either be ble to talk to someone about their issues or when no one is available they can leave a message about heir issues and someone will call back. #DriverForce will listen, understand and try to guide and help the caller on how to address the issues at the earliest.

Road Safety Campaign — There is nothing more important to save then a life of a human being. JAC RoadSafety Campaign is focused on reducing accidents or eliminating road fatality. JAC in association with Hella India and Club D2S (Drive Smart, Drive Safe) is launching its #RoadSafety Campaign called “Dekho, Rukko, Bacho” (See, Stop, Save).
