Pune, 28th August 2024: In a significant development, the Pune City Police has registered a case against IPS officer Bhagyashree Navtake on charges of cheating. The case was filed at Bund Garden Police Station in Pune following directives from the Home Department of the Maharashtra state government.

The allegations against Navtake date back to 2021, when she was serving as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) at Pune City Police Crime Branch. During that time, she was involved in registering three cases related to defrauding depositors of Bhaichand Hirachand Raisoni (BHR) in Jalgaon. The recent case against her was quietly registered late last night, adding a layer of secrecy to the proceedings.

Navtake is currently posted as Commandant, I.R.B-IV, SRPF Gr-XVII, in Chandrapur.

The news of the case being registered has caused a stir within the state police force, particularly among the Pune police. The circumstances surrounding the registration of the case and the involvement of the Home Department have raised concerns and sparked discussions within law enforcement circles.

Further details are awaited.
