Pune: Inquiry Ordered into Controversial IAS Officer Puja Khedkar’s Disability Certificate Issued By PCMC’s YCM Hospital

Pimpri Chinchwad, 24th July 2024: The problems for controversial IAS officer Puja Khedkar are escalating. Following a letter from the Commissionerate for Persons with Disabilities, the Pune District Collector’s Office has ordered an inquiry into the issuance of a disability certificate to Khedkar by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC).

The order indicates that a case may be filed against the doctors and aides involved in issuing false disability certificates. Additionally, the PCMC has been directed to expose the racket involved in obtaining these fraudulent certificates.

The Pune District Collector’s Office has mandated an investigation into all individuals who assisted Puja Khedkar, including the doctors from YCM Hospital who issued the disability certificate. The order emphasizes the need to uncover any racket involved in procuring fake disability certificates.

The investigation centers around a disability certificate issued by YCM Hospital, which claims that Khedkar has a permanent seven percent disability in her left knee. This certificate allowed her to obtain a disability certification from the Central Disability Department, raising suspicions of fraud. The investigation seeks to determine whether Khedkar joined government service based on this potentially fraudulent certificate. If found guilty, a case will be filed against the doctor who issued the certificate and all those involved.

The order also mandates that the findings of the inquiry be submitted to the Collector’s Office. The potential exposure of a racket has created panic among those involved, including the medical professionals who issued the certificates.

Further complicating her situation, a case has been registered against Puja Khedkar in Delhi based on a complaint from the UPSC. The Delhi Police Crime Branch is investigating allegations that Khedkar obtained a fake disability certificate. Following the registration of this case, Khedkar faces the imminent threat of arrest. Additionally, her mother, Manorama Khedkar, has been arrested in connection with another case.
