Pune: Indian Gaur Again Sighted, Rescue Operation Begins

Pune, December 22, 2020: Once again an Indian Gaur was seen in Pune at the Bavdhan on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway. It is believed that the gaur came from the forest which is close to the area.

Police and forest officials have arrived at the spot and are trying to catch the gaur. The forest department is facing a big challenge to avoid the mistake made last time while catching gaur and to manage the crowd.

Earlier, gaur was found in Kothrud area on December 9. A mob chased the gaur which was running on the roads. All efforts were made to get him back to his original place but he died due to exhaustion during the rescue operation.

It was not possible to catch the gaur with the ropes. Even after giving him tranquiliser injection, the forest officials couldn’t control him. So they tried to control him with the help of a net. Finally, in the afternoon, the forest officials succeeded in calming the gaur by putting a cloth over its face. But after that, he was found dead.
